Apple and Pear Sale

The Sale Is Now Live

Richmond hosts an annual apple and pear sale in partnership with Kiyokawa Family Orchards, a third-generation Japanese-American orchard in the Hood River Valley.

Proceeds from this sale benefit the Richmond PTA’s wonderful programming, so buy some delicious fruit for pies, applesauce, lunches, and just plain good eating!

Ordering will be open from NOW through Friday, October 17th.  Pick up will be 2-5 pm on Thursday, October 23rd, at Richmond School, just to the north of the main entrance on SE 41st Avenue.

Apple boxes weigh 20-22 pounds. Pear boxes are slightly heavier at 22-25 pounds.

This year, for the first time, we are offering some varieties in smaller quantities. If you have always wanted to participate – or always wanted some of those cool pink-inside apples (“Mountain Rose”) – but haven’t wanted a whole box, now you can get just 5 pounds!

To volunteer to help with the apple and pear distribution day on Thursday, October 23rd, please contact [email protected].  We will need helpers to unload the truck (better than crossfit!) for about an hour sometime in the morning (won’t know until that day), and we will also need helpers 1:30 – 5pm (in shifts) to help sort fruit into 5 pound bags, and to help with the distribution.
